Engineering component selection in automated and industrial systems is a complex and time-consuming process due to heterogeneous technical parameters, compatibility constraints, and subjective decision-making. Existing CRM and product management systems are primarily oriented toward business processes and provide limited support for formalized engineering decision-making. This paper presents the development of a CRM system with a decision support module for engineering component selection based on the formalization of technical characteristics, compatibility rules, and selection criteria. A mathematical model is proposed to represent component attributes, requirement constraints, and compatibility relations, enabling automated filtering and ranking of feasible solutions. Based on the derived functional and non-functional requirements, a three-tier system architecture is designed to ensure performance, scalability, and maintainability. The system is implemented as a web-based solution with database-level filtering and standard CRM mechanisms, including role-based access control. Experimental evaluation shows a reduction in manual selection time by approximately 30–40 %, while ensuring full compliance with predefined compatibility constraints. The proposed approach improves decision repeatability and supports efficient engineering workflows in automated system design.
