        <jats:abstract xml:lang="en">
          <jats:p>This study provides a review about the diversity and distribution of ticks and tick-borne diseases in Angola territory. Ticks are blood-feeding parasites that aﬀect vertebrates and create issues for livestock production. Even though research about ticks is done in the region, information about tick diversity and ways of control are still restricted. Hence, in this study were examined twenty-eight articles published from 1950 to 2022 about tick identification in Angola. Used sources comprised Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, and Google Scholar. Based on that, forty tick species were reported in the region, thirty-seven species belong to Ixodidae family and three species from Argasidae. The most common genera were Amblyomma, Rhipicephalus, and Hyalomma. The main tick-borne pathogens were Anaplasma, Babesia, and Theileria species, The most affected hosts are dogs and cattle. With this review is possible to recognize that, more research on tick distribution, genetic diversity, and control procedures are required in the region.</jats:p>
