Title of the Journal : WSEAS TRANSACTIONS ON ENVIRONMENT AND DEVELOPMENT

Title of the Special Issue: Green Taxonomy for Sustainable Development

Aim:
The contemporary challenges related to climate change, depletion of natural resources, and environmental degradation require a systematic approach to sustainable development. One of the key instruments for such transformation is green taxonomy, which, in the broadest sense, represents a structured classification of activities, technologies, and instruments that ensure a positive environmental impact and facilitate the transition to a sustainable, low-carbon economy. This Research Topic covers theoretical and applied aspects of the development and implementation of green taxonomy across various sectors, aiming to establish sustainable development approaches while considering ecological constraints and climate challenges. Special attention will be given to the role of regulatory tools and interdisciplinary approaches, fostering effective collaboration among governments, businesses, and the scientific community. The focus will be on environmental regulatory policies, eco-economic analysis, and the practical application of green principles in industry, energy, agriculture, urban infrastructure, and other sectors.

Topics:
•Conceptual approaches to the development of green taxonomy and sustainability assessment criteria
•The role of green taxonomy in promoting green technologies and innovations
•Practical experiences and best practices in the application of green taxonomy
•Analysis of challenges and barriers to the implementation of green taxonomy and potential solutions
•Application of green taxonomy for assessing environmental efficiency
•Innovative solutions and technologies aligned with green taxonomy principles
•Integration of green taxonomy into regional, national, and international sustainable development strategies
•Other relevant topics in the field of green taxonomy and sustainable development

This Research Topic aims to attract scholars and practitioners engaged in sustainable development, environmental economics and management, ecological innovations, and green technologies. It will contribute to the scientific foundation for developing effective solutions in sustainable economic growth and environmental protection.

Keywords: Green Taxonomy; Sustainable Development; Green Technologies; ESG; Circular Economy; Environmental Policy; Low-Carbon Economy; Eco-Innovations; Climate Neutrality; Resource Conservation; Energy Efficiency

Welcome Message from the Organizer:
We would like to propose a Research Topic (Special Issue) titled “Green Taxonomy for Sustainable Development” for WSEAS Transactions on Environment and Development as an open call for authors to contribute their research within this thematic scope. This initiative is also part of our efforts within the annual International Scientific Conference "Green Taxonomy for Sustainable Development: From Green Technologies to Green Economy"(http://congreentax.tiiame.uz), held at the National Research University “Tashkent Institute of Irrigation And Agricultural Mechanization Engineers” (Tashkent, Uzbekistan). We propose this Special issue while maintaining the standard editorial processes of the journal and ensuring adherence to your established peer-review procedures. Articles submitted under this Research Topic will undergo an additional initial evaluation by the Topic Editors to assess their relevance to the thematic scope and scientific quality. Authors will receive preliminary feedback for potential revisions before the manuscripts are forwarded to your journal for formal peer review. The proposed Special issue (Research Topic) focuses on theoretical and applied aspects of green taxonomy, exploring its role in promoting sustainable development, environmental policy, and low-carbon technological transformation. The following scholars will serve as Research Topic Editors, bringing extensive expertise in environmental economics, green technologies, and sustainable development.
