Abstract: One of the main challenges in the digital world is related to educational tools and systems. Choosing a learning management system is challenging due to the variety of available systems and the diversities in their functionalities, making evaluating, ranking, and selection extremely important. In addition, the lack of a standardized evaluation methodology makes the task of selecting an appropriate platform significantly more difficult. Therefore, the goal of the article is to identify groups of criteria and sub-criteria to be used as a basis for evaluation. Along with formulated criteria, the article proposes a multicriteria model for evaluating and ranking learning management systems platforms, aimed at assisting institutions in selecting the most suitable system according to their needs. The described model integrates identified groups of criteria and sub-criteria with different degrees of importance in the evaluation process to obtain a final decision. A numerical example is presented to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed model. The obtained results certainly prove the capability of the modeling approach to evaluate learning management systems considering the preferences of the expert towards multiple groups of criteria.
