Abstract: This research aims to identify the unique role of community support mechanisms in ensuring organization-stakeholder fit by using the case of military organizations and military families and proposing a community support model. This study combines organization-stakeholder fit and dual concern theories in military contexts. Mixed methodology integrates quantitative survey data (n=482) with qualitative insights from open-ended questions (n=310) and focus groups (n=8). Findings indicate that collaborative conflict resolution strategies reduce work-family conflict, whereas accommodating conflict resolution approaches exacerbate it. The research emphasises the crucial role of community support in mitigating work-family conflict among military families and proposes a community support model. This study uncovers how collaboration and community support interact, providing insights relevant beyond military organizations. It contributes to the organization-stakeholder fit theory by emphasising the importance of community support mechanisms. The findings have managerial implications for both military and business organizational contexts.
