Stator Flux Orientation Control of Induction Motor Fed by Three-Level NPC Inverter
Authors: , ,
Abstract: The application of NPC three level inverter based ISFOC (Indirect Stator Flux Orientation Control) for an induction motor is presented in this paper. The vector-controlled induction motor using Stator Field Orientation (SFO) is the subject of this work. It is well known that the vector control strategy is based on the simultaneous determination of the magnitude and argument of the flux vector, which provides an effective solution that decouples the flux and torque of an induction motor, thereby overcoming the complex control obstacle of this type of machine. Additionally, the proposed inverter is among multilevel inverters, the most popular topology, which is the diode-clamped inverter, also known as a neutral-point-clamped (NPC). Simulations are used to assess the performance of the proposed inverter while taking the vector drive system into consideration.
