Predicting Laboratory Performance: The Impact of Quiz Scores and Attendance

Abstract: Continuous assessment is a key component of higher education. This study examines the impact of two quiz scores and attendance on final laboratory grades for a cohort of 217 students over three consecutive years. Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlations, and linear regression models were employed. Results indicate that quiz performance strongly predicts lab grades, whereas attendance alone has minimal impact. These findings highlight the importance of monitoring formative assessments to enhance academic success.
