Abstract: Scattering of electromagnetic plane waves from what we called Bernoulli particles is considered. These
particles are obtained by the deformation of the sphere in radial direction via Bernoulli polynomials as smooth
deformation functions. Analyses are carried out analytically by perturbation method. In order to achieve good
accuracy, second order perturbation method is used. Present calculations enable to evaluate radar cross sections
for arbitrary Bernoulli polynomials Bn(cos ). In the considered region, Bernoulli particles posses a noticeable
property that there exists a correlation between the order of the polynomial and backward radar cross section.
