Assessment of Balanced Development of Kazakhstan's Regions in the Context of SDG Implementation

Abstract: In modern conditions, the implementation of a balanced regional policy is one of the key tasks for the Republic of Kazakhstan. The article discusses approaches to assessing the balanced development of Kazakhstan's regions, considering three dimensions (economic well-being, innovation and digitalization, environment). The purpose of this study is to develop a methodology for assessing regional development factors in the context of SDG implementation. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the use of a set of modern methods, including methods of retrospective analysis, logical and comparative analysis, analogies and generalizations, economic statistics, index, modified method of the principal components. The study uses not only existing methods, but also their modification. The research methodology is based on the sustainable development concept. The main focus of the study is on assessing the balanced development of the Kazakhstan regions. In conclusion, practical recommendations are proposed for regional government bodies aimed at improving the effectiveness of assessing the achievement of the SDGs at the regional level.
