Hybrid Active Teaching in Automatic Control Systems Course

Abstract: This paper introduces a hybrid teaching method for an undergraduate course in automatic control systems. This approach combines traditional lectures with interactive, hands-on activities that link theoretical concepts to real-world applications. Using MATLAB and QUARC software, students apply theoretical knowledge to practical control problems, enhancing their understanding and skills. The lab sessions are aligned with lecture topics to create a cohesive learning experience that reinforces the fundamentals of classical control theory. This hybrid method boosts student engagement, improves problem-solving skills, and enhances overall learning outcomes. This framework provides valuable insights for educators looking to improve undergraduate control systems courses.
