Abstract: For exponentially stratified rotating compressible fluid, we investigate the localization and the structure of the spectrum of inner waves caused by the gravitational force and the Coriolis force. We find the essential spectrum for the first boundary value problem in general domains. Our main result is the explicit examples of the eigenvalues and the corresponding orthogonal eigenfunctions for parallelepipeds, for general cylinders and for spherical volumes.
