Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to investigate various composite materials that have been applied in wind turbine blades.Α computational study on a GE 1.5 XLE wind turbine blade with different composite materials was performed. The computational evaluations from the fluent analysis have been used in order to calculate the equivalent (Von-Mises) stress, shear stress, and displacements of a wind turbine blade. The proposed study results in useful and interesting conclusions for the stress and displacement fields that arise in blades with different materials and under different loading conditions.
